Today is a fun post! This year we changed up our mini sessions a bit. We had the idea last year that we’d like to give back to our community in some way, we just weren’t sure how that would look. Well, in February a board member of the Jo Daviess Conservation Foundation reached out to meet with us. During that meeting we talked about all kinds of ideas and she mentioned that JDCF would like to partner with us for photos of families at some of their properties for a fundraiser. It was exactly the kind of partnership we were looking for!
Just a few weeks ago we held our first day of mini sessions. They took place at Casper Bluff Preserve which overlooks the Mississippi River. It’s a gorgeous location! Sadly, there were massive thunderstorms in the morning which meant our morning sessions had to reschedule. But our afternoon sessions were able to happen! These are just a couple of our faves from those first couple of sessions.
With such a big group, this first family actually booked 2 back-to-back mini sessions so we could fit in all the photos they were looking for. It worked perfectly!
This next family we have been photographing for years! It’s so fun to see the kids grow and change each year. Gavin is taller than me (Cathy) now!
And this final couple were coming to Galena for a trip and just happened to reach out about a maternity mini session. The stars aligned and they were able to do a session on one of our mini session dates which was so cool!
Our rain date for these sessions was just last weekend so we’ll be sharing the families that had to reschedule on the blog here soon. And we do still have several spots open for October 19th if you’re still looking for a mini session for your family!
