This week is ending on the BEST post ever!!!! Our amazing friends, Jaysin and Andrea, got married earlier this month and we had the distinct pleasure of joining them for the celebration! If you don’t know Jaysin, he is the owner and lead videographer of NightOwls Media out of Chicago. He is an incredibly talented wedding and commercial videographer and we have found kindred spirits in him and Andrea. They are amazing people who are not only fun to be around, but are also genuine and down to earth. We love Jaysin because he cares about his couples as much as we do and he doesn’t let any craziness of the wedding day phase him. He’s totally go-with-the-flow without complaint which we love because that’s how we are. Wedding days are always hectic, things don’t go as planned, and I can’t overstate the importance of hiring professionals that can roll with it and still make your day amazing.
The day of their wedding was a chilly one! The week before we had been showered with sunlight and 60 degree weather. The day Jaysin and Andrea got married? Drizzly rain and 40’s! Their plan for the wedding ceremony was to have a guerrilla wedding-meaning we were all just going to show up at a designated park and have a ceremony. No asking, no permits, just a little group of people standing under a willow tree wishing two incredible people a lifetime of happiness together. The day of their wedding was their 10 year dating anniversary too which made it even more special.
We started the day at their house with their friends and family taking photos of the cute details they had pulled together. These two are major comic book fans, Marvel fans, and Andrea LOVES Harry Potter so their day was full of little tributes to the things that they love.
They may have even put a tie on one of their cats to celebrate the occasion. Doesn’t he look handsome? 🙂
Jaysin was all nerves waiting for Andrea to come meet him for their first look!
And grab some tissues now because this fist look was ADORABLE!!! Jaysin had exactly the reaction every bride hopes for!
Andrea you are so cute!!!
Their ceremony was perfectly wonderful for the two of them. Their officiant, Anita (who is incredible by the way!), put together a heartfelt and genuine ceremony that was exactly what these two would have wanted. There was also a reading of Scientific Romance by Tim Pratt which I loved! Of course there were also almost as many cameras present as there were attendees between the three video camera setup and Jeff and I with at least 3 cameras on us at the ceremony (and two more in the car).
The ground was super soft and Andrea’s heels sunk so for their first kiss she stepped right out of them to kiss Jaysin!
After that we spent time taking photos of them with their families and their best man and maid of honor. They have plans to turn a lot of these images into movie posters for their walls at home so we did a lot of things outside our norm so they can do that. Andrea is a photo editor and she can’t wait to create their own movie posters!
This bar is where Jaysin proposed so we had to stop there for a drink and some pics!
The end of the day was the most epic. When we met with them in March Andrea had mentioned that she had bought several pounds of glitter to use for their photos, but she wasn’t sure what to do with it. Jeff came up with a great plan! He and I made a glitter cannon! We shot glitter all over their backyard and they also shot it at each other!
While the photos were epic, all of us and everything near us was covered in glitter afterward! I’m still pulling glitter out of my coat pockets from that day!
Andrea and Jaysin, there aren’t enough words to tell you how much we love you and how much it meant to us to be able to capture your wedding for you. You two are incredible friends and we are so happy for you!!!
