Destiney and Joe were married on a chilly, but still beautiful day in January. Though the snow didn’t fall as much as they had hoped (Destiney LOVES snow), Mother Nature still brought out her best with some gorgeous sunshine and just enough chill in the air to keep a few patches of snow around for us to use 🙂
Destiney started her day with all her girls getting ready at the church together.
Destiney’s Maid of Honor wrote her and Joe a letter that was incredibly sweet and brought tears to Destiney’s eyes. These girls have been friends for forever and care so much for each other.
I love this ring shot Jeff grabbed while I was hanging out with the girls!
Destiney had a custom jacket made for her dress which she wore most of the day. It complimented her and her dress so well!!!!
Joe and his guys got dressed in another room of the church. Joe had to help most of the guys with their ties which was pretty amusing!
Before she left to see Joe for the first time, Destiney and her dad got a few moments on their own. Destiney kept telling us her dad wasn’t an emotional guy, but he certainly got a huge smile on his face when he saw his little girl in her wedding dress. You could feel how proud he is of her the way he looked at her in these moments.
Next, it was time to go see Joe for the first time!!!! Destiney was so anxious to see him while we were on the way there and couldn’t hold back her happy tears once she tapped him on his shoulder. Joe’s reaction was one of absolutely pure JOY! There was no containing the huge smile and pure joyful laugh he had when he turned around. It was such a pure moment between these two and we were so glad we got to witness it.
You are STUNNING Destiney!!!!! Love these images of you!!!!!
Their first look took place at Destiney’s parent’s house so it was especially sweet having these photos there.
It got pretty chilly while we were outside so Destiney wrapped up in a pretty white blanket to stay warm.
Even though there was almost no snow anywhere, we found this tiny patch and made the most of it!
Loved the sun peeking over this wall!!!
Perfectly flowy veils are my fave!!!!
After the first look we went back to the church for a few photos with their wedding party. At this point in the day it was COLD so we did these as quickly as possible to keep everyone from getting frostbite!
Then it was time for the ceremony to begin!
After the ceremony, we stopped by the high school for some photos on the basketball court. Joe coaches basketball so these were the photos he was super excited about all day!
Once the wedding party photos were done, it was time to start our journey to Maquoketa for the reception! Their reception was decked out in winter prettiness! From their hot cocoa bar to their snowflake cookies, every detail was exactly what Destiney had always wanted for her winter wedding.
Destiney and Joe learned a choreographed dance for their first dance and they rocked it!!!
The rest of the night was full of dancing and hilarity! The After Party kept the party going all night!
We grabbed Destiney and Joe for a quick sunset photo since the view was beautiful from the back of the hotel the reception took place at.
Of course we had to do a photo of Joe with his basketball team ladies!
We ended the night with this fun image of the two of them out front of the hotel. We love creating cool night photos for our couples anytime we can!
Destiney and Joe, we had an AMAZING time with you guys and LOVED your wedding day!!!! Thank you so much for choosing us to be part of it!
