Oh my gosh you guys! We started our 2018 wedding season with the most amazing couple and we cannot wait to share them with you today! Lauren and Jordan had a gorgeous spring wedding at Patrick Haley Mansion in Joliet, IL. Their ceremony was at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Yorkville. Add on top of that, their wedding was on St. Patrick’s Day so there were married on St. Patrick’s Day, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with a reception at Patrick Haley Mansion. It was the day of Patrick!!! 🙂
Lauren and her ladies started their day at the home Lauren grew up in. It was so sweet to spend the morning in her family home, surrounded by photos and quotes and memories that Lauren and her family shared throughout their lives. Though the weather outside was super chilly (with ice covered trees the morning of the wedding) the vibe inside their house was truly heartwarming. Lauren was so excited about marrying Jordan and couldn’t wait to see him! She was all smiles all morning long!
Because Jordan and his guys got ready so far from the ladies, Jeff met them at a park in Yorkville near the church so that he could do some photos of the guys together before the ceremony started. With the chill in the air, they went through pics pretty quickly and the guys warmed up at the nearby bar while they waited for their Uber to take them to the church.
Meanwhile, the ladies got dressed at Lauren’s parents house. We did some photos of Lauren and her family and Lauren and her bridesmaids in their house. The goal was to keep everyone warm for as long as possible since we knew all the photos in the afternoon would be outside and the girls would be COLD!
The ceremony was truly beautiful! I think because I grew up attending Catholic churches, those ceremonies always strike a particular heartstring in me. I love the tradition of it, the words, the songs. Every part of it is filled with meaning.
After the ceremony we did some formal family photos in the church, then we took the wedding party to the river for some photos and then over to the Patrick Haley Mansion to do some photos before letting everyone attend the cocktail hour.
The Patrick Haley Mansion was GORGEOUS!!!! This was our first time at that venue and we adored every moment of it! There is something to be said for going to a venue for the first time as a creative person. It sparks something within us that causes us to seek out the cool and unusual aspects of the venue. In addition, the mansion has all these rooms and details throughout that give you so much to look at everywhere you turn!
Just before the entrances to their reception, we stole Lauren and Jordan away for a couple sunset photos. I love these images so much!!! They’re just so darn adorable together!
From the entrances on, the night was one big party! Lauren’s dad gave an emotional toast, her sisters rapped their speech as co-maids of honor, and Jordan’s grandma was on the dance floor all night long! The green beer, the singing aloud, the happy tears, it was a perfect celebration of the love that Lauren and Jordan share.
Lauren and Jordan, thank you for choosing us to take your wedding photos. These priceless memories will be with you throughout your lives together. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for you!
Thank you also to the vendors that helped create a stunning day for these two!
