On a not-so-perfectly-lovely fall day in which the rain threatened to stop our session at every turn, Christine and Kyle braved the elements for their engagement session in Galena. Due to Kyle’s work schedule it was incredibly hard to find a time that all four of us could get together to do these photos so by the time the day of their session came around it was then or a month from that date which was just too far away. So we all made the choice to give it a shot and I’m so glad we did! Sometimes those overcast cloudy days can be the most beautiful for photos.
We started our session in Grant Park which overlooks downtown Galena. Christine and Kyle have two dogs that are their babies so of course we had to do some photos with Missy and Buddy!!! After Missy and Buddy had their few moments of craziness with us, Christine’s parents took them to puppysit them while we continued to have fun taking photos together. We LOVED how pretty the trees in Grant Park were the day of their session!!! Overcast skies certainly make colors become so much more vibrant so that really worked in our favor 🙂
Then we went out to Galena Territory for the next part of our session. They had recently purchased a home out there so it was important to take some photos in the area that would be where their first home together was. We had so much fun together here!!!
We finished the session by chasing daylight and ending up on the highest point we could find in Galena. We did just a few photos of them in their Cubs gear since they’re avid Cubs fans.
This was such a fun session and we’re so very glad we all chose to go for it even with the threat of rain! We had a blast getting to know Christine and Kyle even more! Their wedding is in the summer of this year and if their engagement session is any indication, it’s going to be a super fun party!
