Happy Friday!!!! I just adore Friday for so many reasons. A lot of people love it because it’s the end of their week, but typically for us it’s just the start of our working weekend and I adore it because I can look forward to the fun shoots and sessions we’ll have over the weekend!
Today wraps up Family Photo Week on the blog and we get to let you in on some of our most favorite photos. It’s my family!!!! My dad and stepmom have been asking for us to do a big family photo session with all of the “kids” for a few years now and it just never lined up that all of us were free and open on the same day. So when we were planning our family mini-session day I thought I would set aside the final session of the day for my family and hope that everyone could make it. It was touch and go even up to the day before because Patrick and Rachel have crazy work schedules, but thankfully we all were able to get together and take some fantastic photos of all of us. It reminded me once again of how important photos are and how vital it is to make sure you take the time to take photos of your own family once in awhile.
If you haven’t heard the truly amazing story of my little brother, my dad and Sandy adopted him 12 years ago on the weekend of my birthday (I won’t tell you which birthday because it’ll totally give away my age). I will be the first to admit that I wasn’t sure how it would be. He was so much younger than me and I knew I wouldn’t be able to be around all the time to watch him grow up. Though there have been challenges throughout his life, Matthew brings a smile and laughter to everyone he meets. He calls me “sissy” which absolutely melts my heart every single time and I look forward to every minute we get to spend together.
Next up is my brother Patrick with Rachel and Miss Maci. Much like any siblings, Patrick and I didn’t exactly get along a majority of our lives growing up, especially because there are 6 years between us and that’s an awkward age gap throughout your younger life. But, as soon as I moved away to college, all of that changed. We became very close and would talk fairly often. Now we may not talk as frequently, but the amount of love and support we have for one another is the same. I adore him and am so proud of the man he’s become.
Rachel has become like a sister to me in the years she and Patrick have been together. We’ve laughed together, cried together, and eaten ourselves sick with bacon-wrapped smokies together. 😉 She is funny, kind, thoughtful, and the kind of person that you want in your corner when things aren’t going right because she’ll fight beside you and for you until the end. She’s an amazing mom and a great partner to Patrick as they travel through life together. And Miss Maci. There aren’t enough words to say how much I love this little girl. She is the perfect combination of her parents which means she’s silly, has hilarious jokes, is super smart, crazy creative, and stubborn as the most stubborn bull you’ve ever met! She has brought so much light into our lives and we all love her so very much! Rachel even volunteered to take a few pictures of Jeff and I, which I am so grateful for! All together we make a totally silly family. We have been through a lot and will continue to go through a lot together. We don’t always see eye-to-eye and some of our views are vastly different now and again, but at the end of the day we know we’re family and we can count on each other no matter what. Not everyone can say that and I’m so grateful that we can. I’ll leave you with the BEST PICTURE EVER!!!!
Happy weekend everyone!!!!
