Welcome back to the blog! As you’ve probably figured out by now, a lot of our winter shoots have been focused around photos at B&B’s, hotels, and food. We’ve been quietly growing the commercial side of our business for the past 2 years and have slowly been showing off more and more of the work we’ve been doing. We are having a BLAST and love how working on our lighting for commercial photos has helped us get even better at our lighting for weddings and engagements. It’s been a ton of fun for us to explore this side of photography and we are anxious to continue growing in this market moving forward.
With all that said, today we’re super excited to introduce you to the newly remodeled Aldrich Guest House!!!! The new owners, Robert & Douglas, have poured their hearts, souls, and a lot of sweat into making this place look how it does now. To give you some history, the Aldrich was the very first B&B we photographed in the Galena area when the previous owners had it. We were super new to commercial photography at the time and bid it crazy low just to have a chance to shoot it. We learned a LOT from that shoot and it has been the catapult into where our business is headed now. Because of all of that, it has been insanely fun to have the opportunity to go back to the same house and shoot it all over again with 2 more years of experience and a lot more knowledge under our belts!
As you enter this home, you are immediately greeted with a light and airy foyer. The first floor features common areas and the dining room while the upstairs boasts the guest rooms, each with a private bathroom. Each room is bright and inviting creating a feeling of warmth and comfort.
Each room features a custom color pallet with decor perfectly matched to pull the space together. As you walk from room to room you realize every aspect has been carefully thought through and chosen to highlight the beauty and uniqueness each room has to offer the guests that stay there.
The whole place is so fresh and enticing! The common spaces are gorgeous and beg you to sit and stay awhile.
This parlor is our favorite updated room! Don’t you just want to read a book or sip some wine while lounging on these settees?
This is such a great B&B! I love all the updates and pretty touches that Robert and Douglas added to make this home feel refreshing for their guests. You really should add this to your list of places to stay next time you’re in Galena!
