Oh my gosh are you so excited that it’s Friday? At the end of a long week we love spoiling you with some super pretty photos to check out and we are so happy to share this wedding with you all today!!! Kate and Sam planned the most romantic downtown Dubuque wedding ever. It was full of pretty elegant details, girls in beautiful silver dresses, and guys in tuxedos. What we loved most about the whole day was that even though the wedding was full of elegance and romance, Kate and Sam embraced it with the fun-loving hearts they have and it made for the most amazingly fun day!
Kate and her girls began the day getting ready in a salon in East Dubuque. They all spent the morning joking around together while Kate got her hair and makeup done to flawless perfection! While Kate and her girls were getting their hair done, Sam was with his mom and dad getting ready. After hair and makeup were completed, the girls all headed over to Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Church in Menominee to get dressed. This is the church that Kate’s family has attended all her life. Kate’s mom helped her put on her jewelry and dress. Kate’s jewelry included pearls that her grandfather gave to her grandma. There were a couple of tears shed when Kate gave her mom her gift. Meanwhile, Jeff had Sam waiting patiently to see his bride! His reaction when he turned to see her was spectacular!!! Kate, you are so gorgeous!!! Aren’t they just so sweet?!?! Once the groomsmen and bridesmaids came to join in, the fun really kicked up! Sam has a fantastic relationship with all of the guys that stood up beside him. Because they’re all so close they are hilarious together in the antics they come up with!
We loved the silver dresses Kate chose for her bridesmaids! The boys all really wanted to do a cheesy “around the tree” photo with Sam in front so of course we had to let them!!! Jeff had the idea to do the second photo with a super silly tiny tree. These two photos crack me up! Because we had a few minutes before the ceremony began, the guys had to find their own form of entertainment. Jeff and I just happened to walk by the door to the gym and hear them all in there playing around. It was so funny to see a bunch of guys playing basketball in formal tuxedos!
The next few images prove a point that Jeff and I always try to tell our couples. Even if you have a first look, if your significant other is going to have a reaction to you walking down the aisle they will still have that reaction even if you’ve seen each other before the ceremony. Sam’s reaction was truly priceless. After the ceremony we headed to downtown Dubuque for photos of the whole wedding party together and a few more of Kate and Sam. This one has to be one of my all time favorite wedding party photos! A truly funny moment happened when another wedding party wearing similar attire saw us taking photos with Kate and Sam. Two of the groomsmen ran over and asked to take a selfie with them! So fun! 🙂
We made a quick stop by Lot 1 for some snacks and beverages before it was time to head to the reception. Kate had told Sam that he could put a few funny things here and there throughout the wedding. Their program had a quote that referred to Kanye West (so funny), and hidden throughout their place cards were names of famous people. The guests reactions when they thought Barack and Michelle Obama were attending the reception was priceless! So, funny story here. Sam is a 4th degree black belt and Kate calls him a ninja. So in true hilarious form, they cut their cake with a katana.
Before the dance floor opened, Kate and Sam shared their first dance together and with their parents. Once the dance floor was open there was no way to keep people off of it! Alex and Brandon from The After Party did an incredible job keeping everyone moving all night long! Before we left for the evening, we wanted to take a couple of night photos with Kate and Sam. I loved the look of this wall behind the couch in the lobby so we stopped there for one image, then we took to the street for our last one 🙂 Kate and Sam, we loved every moment of getting to know you two and working with you throughout your wedding planning. You two are incredible and we can’t wait to see what life has ahead for you!!!
